Attorney General Todd Rokita has responded to Governor Mike Braun’s first State of the State address. In his statement, Rokita expressed support for the governor’s priorities.

“Gov. Braun delivered a refreshing State of the State address by saying he wants to combat runaway property taxes, reduce healthcare costs, fight illegal immigration, eliminate DEI from state government, and keep parents in charge of their children’s education – which I believe includes protecting kids from indoctrination and woke ideology. Basically, Mike is putting Hoosiers first, which will continue being my priority — no different than my last four years in office,” Rokita said.

Governor Braun outlined several policy goals during his address. These include addressing property tax increases, lowering healthcare expenses, tackling illegal immigration issues in Indiana, removing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives from state government operations, and emphasizing parental involvement in education.

Rokita noted that these priorities align with his own approach during his tenure as attorney general.
