Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita has filed a lawsuit in South Bend against the St. Joseph County Police Department and its head, Sheriff William Redman. The legal action seeks to enforce compliance with state and federal laws regarding illegal immigration.

Rokita stated, “Law enforcement officials in Indiana must be compliant and help end this illegal alien crisis taking over Hoosier communities.”

The lawsuit alleges that local law enforcement is not fully cooperating with efforts to address illegal immigration within the state. The filings were submitted on Friday.
