The Indiana Supreme Court is seeking public input on proposed changes to several Indiana Rules of Court. The amendments under consideration include a new provision to Rule 5 of the Rules on Access to Court Records, which would restrict access to child sex abuse material presented as exhibits during trial.

Another proposed change involves Trial Rule 12, which would introduce specific timing requirements for responsive pleadings and update existing language in the rule.

Additionally, comprehensive structural updates are being considered for the Tax Court Rules.

Members of the public can review the proposed amendments and submit their comments until Thursday, February 26, 2026, at noon Eastern time. Comments may be submitted online or sent in writing to the Indiana Office of Court Services, addressed to the Rules Committee at 251 N. Illinois Street, Suite 800, Indianapolis, IN 46204. Comments sent by other means or directly to court staff or committee members will not be considered.
