The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Indiana announced on Apr. 15 a free continuing legal education (CLE) seminar, scheduled for May 7 in Fort Wayne. The event, titled “Bankruptcy Bench to Bankruptcy Bar: a Live Q&A Experience,” will feature an open conversation between attendees and a panel of three bankruptcy judges.

The seminar offers attorneys and interested participants an opportunity to engage directly with the court by asking questions about its procedures and practices. Organizers say this session is designed to provide practical advice for appearing before the court, as well as insights into judicial decision-making.

The panel will include Chief Judge James Ahler, Judge Robert E. Grant, and Judge Paul Singleton of the United States Bankruptcy Court. Angie Marshall, law clerk to Judge Grant, will serve as moderator. The event is set for Thursday, May 7 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., both in-person at Judge Grant’s courtroom in Fort Wayne and via live webcast.

Attendees can earn one hour of Indiana CLE credit by participating in the seminar. Questions may be submitted in advance by email or asked during the event itself.

Following the seminar, there will be a wine and cheese social sponsored by the Allen County Bar Association’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Section along with the Indiana State Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Section.

This event provides legal professionals an opportunity to interact directly with members of the bankruptcy bench while fulfilling CLE requirements.
