The United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana announced on May 6 that registration is now open for the 2026 Virtual Power Act event. The program, which focuses on pro bono legal services to empower survivors of domestic violence, is aimed at attorneys interested in participating in this initiative.

This virtual event highlights efforts to provide legal support and resources to those affected by domestic violence through volunteer attorney work. The court encourages interested attorneys to register and participate in the program, which seeks to strengthen access to justice for vulnerable individuals.

According to the announcement, a flyer with details about the event is available online. The flyer includes both a web address (https://www.nynd.uscourts.gov/power-act-2026) and a QR code that direct users to the registration page. Attorneys can register by following the link provided and submitting their information; approximately two days before the program, registrants will receive access instructions via email.

Registration closes on May 15, so those wishing to attend are encouraged not to delay. The court said this initiative aligns with ongoing efforts nationwide to promote pro bono service within the legal profession.

The upcoming virtual event represents an opportunity for attorneys in northern Indiana and beyond to engage with peers while supporting survivors of domestic violence through meaningful volunteer work.
